Yalitzi

what is "Yalitzi"

It may sound Greek to you, but trust us it’s strange even for Greeks! Though there is an explanation. The name Yalitzi is a combination of 2 elements, utterly relative with Symi. Firstly our precious little house is located in Yialos, Symi (usualy written Gialos, but it's spelled  "Yialos"). So as a part of Yialos it could carry something from its name. Secondly and most important (or funny) has to do with the local accent, which adds a "t" to every "z". So Yalizi is spelled Y a l i t z i

the Greek verb Yalizi (Yalitzi for locals) means "it shines". We are sure it shines from neatness. we believe it shines from beauty and we hope it will shine at your presence

the house

It has always been our favorite home on the island. It got a little ..aged so we decided it! We studied, we reshaped it, we improved it, we totaly transformed it with lots of love , to share it with you ..our Yalitzi!

our island

Within a highly nautical atmosphere, with its highly developed cultural level, Symi imagines a queen who proudly reflects on the deep blue waters of the harbor. There is no doubt that Symi is one of the most picturesque seas ""states"" in the Aegean, but one of the most enchanting neighborhoods of the entire Mediterranean.

This sweet apartment on a quiet street in the center of Symi was absolutely wonderful. A few steps from the harbor, shops, bakery and tavernas, Eva’s place was a quiet and cool respite from the summer bustle. Inside it was impeccable - clean and beautifully decorated with style, with the comfort of travelers fully in mind. I was surprised many times by the thoughtful touches - chilled cherry preserves on arrival, coffee ready for roasting, a beach umbrella in case we needed it at one of Symi’s beaches accessible by boat taxi… Eva and Kate had thought of everything and were sure to check to see we had everything we needed. You won’t be disappointed, rent it if it is available!!
